THE MOVIE MAN, 77 min   8:00 PM

special guests, Matt Finlin, director

and Keith Stata, owner of Kinmount's Highlands Cinema

A documentary five years in the making about one guy deep in the forest of a tiny Canadian town desperately, and singlehandedly, trying to keep his movie theatre alive against all odds. It is called appropriately enough, The Movie Man, and beyond being the story of this one solitary figure and maybe the most unusual movie theater on the planet, it also really is the story of the industry itself in all of its aspects, from the movies to their distribution to their exhibition to technological changes to, well, just trying to survive another season.

MEETING THE BEATLES IN INDIA, 82 min  3:30 PM

special guest Paul Saltzman, director

Filmmaker Paul Saltzman retraces his journey of 50 years ago when he spent a life-changing time with the Beatles at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram on the banks of the Ganges River. In 1968, he discovered his own soul, learned meditation, which changed his life, and hung out with John, Paul, George and Ringo. Fifty years later, he finds "Bungalow Bill" in Hawaii; connects with David Lynch about his own inner journey; as well as preeminent Beatles historian, Mark Lewisohn; Academy Award nominated film composer, Laurence Rosenthal.: and Pattie and Jenny Boyd. And much of this is due to Saltzman's own daughter, Devyani, reminding him that he had put away and forgotten these remarkably intimate photographs of that time in 1968.

MR. TOILET: The World’s #2 Man, 87 min     1:30 PM

To a stranger, he's a guy obsessed with toilets, but to those who know him, he's "Mr. Toilet," a crusader in global sanitation. Born in the Singapore slums, Jack Sim knows firsthand the agonies of not having a proper loo. Now, he's dedicating his life to a crisis no one dares talk about: poop. Using humor as his main weapon, he plunges into his biggest challenge: securing 6 million toilets for the "Clean India" initiative. But with few resources and no help from the government, his epic project and reputation are in jeopardy.
